My topic
for this assignment was places to have alcoholic beverages in Wellington. I
wanted to convey three different atmospheres/moods that different
establishments provide. I feel that each of the three bars I picked has a
distinct style and vibe.
For The
Rogue and Vagabond, I used lighter colours to convey a relaxed outdoor
vibe. Spots of yellow imitate a light
burst seen in photographs on a sunny day. For Dirty Little Secret I wanted the
colour to emulate the best time to visit there; dusk on a nice day to get a
beautiful view from the rooftop bar. Lastly I wanted to create an intimate,
cosy vibe which the Library bar is known for - accentuating the nooks that you
can sit in and have private conversations with a fancy cocktail.
From this
project I learnt that I find it difficult to decide on final illustrations. I spend most of my time on this and am never particularly
happy with the result.
